Three selected to Academic All-Big 12 Women's Cross Country
IRVING, Texas -- Three Texas Cross Country student-athletes were named to the 2007 Academic All-Big 12 Team, announced Tuesday by the league office.
Junior Larkin Geyer was named to the first team for the second consecutive season, sophomore Betzy Jimenez garnered first team honors for the first time in her career, and sophomore Lauren Salisbury was tabbed a second-team selection for the first time since walking on to campus. Geyer, an Austin native, boasts a 3.5 grade-point average and has competed in four meets for the Longhorns this year. Jimenez (Hereford, Texas) carries a 3.21 GPA and finished first among Texas runners in three of four meets this season. Salisbury (Pflugerville, Texas) stands at 3.07 and has three races under her belt this year. Texas travels to Lubbock, Texas for the 2007 Big 12 Cross Country Championships. Texas Tech will host its first league championship as the women's 6K starts at 11 a.m. CDT on Friday, Oct. 26.
