The Horns are the No. 9 seed in the 2010 NCAA Tournament and are winners of their last 19 matches ... UT won the Austin Regional by beating No. 8 Illinois (3-2) and No. 16 Purdue (3-1) ...Texas is making its 27th tourney appearance which ties for seventh-best nationally ... The Horns own a 62-25 all-time mark in the tourney ... Juliann Faucette was named the regional's most outstanding player and was joined on the all-tourney team by Rachael Adams, Jennifer Doris and Michelle Kocher.
TEXAS IN THE NCAA STATS
UT ranks atop the Big 12 and ranks No. 4 in the nation with its .311 team hitting percentage ... UT ranks No. 15 in the NCAA in kills with 14.33 kills per-set ... junior middle blocker Rachael Adams ranks No. 1 nationally with her .448 hitting percentage, while senior middle blocker Jennifer Doris holds the No. 2 spot with her .435 attack mark.
NCAA TOURNEY HIGHLIGHTS
In its four NCAA matches, Texas is hitting .360 as a team and all but one hitter is hitting above .280 ... junior Rachael Adams is leading the way with a .511 attack mark, 3.50 kills and 1.25 blocks per-set ... senior Juliann Faucette is averaging 4.19 kills and 2.06 digs per-set and hitting .283.
WINNING WELL
During Texas' current 19-match winning streak it has posted some impressive numbers ... the Horns are hitting .346 during the stretch and averaging 15.54 kills per-set ... senior outside hitter Juliann Faucette has shouldered the load with 4.50 kills and 2.74 digs per-set, while hitting at a .298 clip ... junior middle blocker Rachael Adams is hitting .478 with 3.07 kills and 1.24 blocks per-set during the streak.
TEXAS' ALL-REGION HONOREES
Texas landed senior Juliann Faucette and junior Rachael Adams on the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Central Region First Team and head coach Jerritt Elliott has been named the AVCA Central Region Coach of the Year.
HORNS CLAIM BIG 12 HONORS
Texas fared well in the 2010 Big 12 Conference awards with senior outside hitter Juliann Faucette earning Player of the Year honors and head coach Jerritt Elliott earning co-Coach of the Year accolades ... Faucette and junior middle blocker Rachael Adams earned All-Big 12 First Team lauds ... senior middle blocker Jennifer Doris and junior outside hitter Amber Roberson were named honorable mention.
THE SENIOR CLASS
This year's senior class has led Texas to a 112-15 mark in their four seasons, while posting a 74-6 record in Big 12 play ... the class has led the Horns to a pair of NCAA Regional Finals, one NCAA Semifinal, one NCAA Championship match and three straight Big 12 Conference titles ... the senior class is the winningest class in the history of UT Volleyball with its .882 career winning percentage.
