Hey, everyone! This is Sarah Holloway, a freshman defensive specialist and libero on the Texas Volleyball team. This year, I've inherited the weekly diary from both Whitney Garvens (who wrote it for the volleyball team in 2003) and from my brother Tillman (who wrote a diary for the UT football team last year). I'll keep you up-to-date on what's happening with the team, both on the court and off. I'll fill you in on our matches and our travels as we go after a Big 12 title in 2004! Check back each week to see what we've been up to! Hook 'em!
Tomorrow we leave for Green Bay, Wisconsin, where we'll take on Stanford Friday night and continue or journey toward earning the right to hang another white banner.
It was a great feeling to wake up on Sunday morning and know that we are one of only 16 teams still practicing. It was so nice to be able to play at home in front of our awesome fans two more times. A special thanks goes out to the whole student section for coming out to the matches because we all know that it's hard to get any extra free time with finals approaching. We have had some very faithful fans that even left "Good game!" signs on our doors after the match. It is nice to know that we have such a great support system here at UT. So, thank you, everyone, who came out this weekend to cheer us on!
With only one more week of school left, we are all trying to take our finals early so we can focus on volleyball and reaching our goal. It can get a little hectic sometimes because everyone has different schedules. Yesterday in practice, Jerritt was reiterating that we only had FIVE more practices left of this season. It has flown by.
Well hopefully I will see you all in Long Beach, Calif., at the Final Four next weekend. But for now we are bundling up for frosty Wisconsin and taking this weekend one match at a time.
Time to go study! Happy Holidays!
As always, Hook 'Em and God bless.
-Holler
