· Texas is the No. 4 seed in the NCAA tournament and is the No. 1 seed in the Gainesville Regional bracket ... All four seeded teams in the Gainesville Regional (No. 5 USC, No. 12 St. John's and No. 13 Florida) advanced to regional play ... Three Big 12 teams (Texas, Nebraska and Iowa State) remain in the tournament after first round wins and three (NU, ISU and Penn State) of UT's regular season opponents are playing in Regionals.
· Texas is making its second straight appearance in the NCAA Regional after hosting a regional in 2006 ... The Longhorns are making their 19th NCAA Regional semifinal appearance in program history

The Longhorns' ranking is their highest ranking since Sept. 17, 1996 when Texas was ranked No. 3 ... UT has been ranked in the top seven every week this season ... Texas opened the season ranked No. 4 in the preseason poll, equaling its best preseason ranking in program history (1998).
· Texas earned a total of nine Big 12 Conference awards, including five All-Big 12 First Team honors, Freshman of the Year and Coach of the Year accolades ... Head coach Jerritt Elliott claimed his second Big 12 Coach of the Year honor (2004), while outside hitter Juliann Faucette earned UT's second straight conference Freshman of the Year award ...
