Longhorn Network to air Texas' NCAA Volleyball opening round matches

Nov. 28, 2012

Texas' opening round matches of the 2012 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship will air exclusively on Longhorn Network, starting this Thursday, Nov. 29. The University of Texas is hosting the first- and second-round action, and matches will be held at Gregory Gymnasium. The Horns finished 15-1 in conference play, and sophomore outside hitter Haley Eckerman was named 2012 Big 12 Player of the Year

LHN will televise the live match between No. 3 seeded Texas and Colgate on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. Central. If the Horns win, the network will air the second-round match on Friday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. between Texas and the winner of the N.C. State vs. Texas A&M matchup.

Paul Sunderland, who recently served as indoor volleyball announcer for the 2012 Olympic Games in London, will do play-by-play for the matches, and ESPN's Kelli Tennant will serve as analyst.

Jerritt Elliott, UT head volleyball coach, said, "We feel very fortunate to have Longhorn Network be a part of university and athletic programs. We are excited for the NCAA tournament and the opportunity to play in front of our families and fans on LHN."
