· Texas is the No. 4 seed in the NCAA tournament and is the No. 1 seed in the Gainesville Regional bracket ... The seeded teams in the Gainesville Regional include No. 5 USC, No. 12 St. John's and No. 13 Florida ... College of Charleston, Delaware, Florida A&M, Long Beach State, Long Island, LSU, New Mexico State, Oklahoma, Pepperdine, Princeton, Texas State and UNLV ... complete the 16-team bracket ... · Texas was ranked No. 3 in the CSTV/AVCA poll, released Monday, Nov. 26, holding that position for the fifth straight week ... The Longhorns ranking is their highest ranking since Sept. 17, 1996 when Texas was ranked No. 3 ... UT has been ranked in the top seven every week this season ... Texas opened the season ranked No. 4 in the preseason poll, equaling its best preseason ranking in program history (1998).

· Texas earned a total of nine Big 12 Conference awards, including five All-Big 12 First Team honors, Freshman of the Year and Coach of the Year accolades ... Head coach Jerritt Elliott claimed his second Big 12 Coach of the Year honor (2004), while outside hitter Juliann Faucette earned UT's second straight conference Freshman of the Year award ... Sophomore opposite hitter Ashley Engle, Faucette, sophomore outside hitter Destinee Hooker, senior setter Michelle Moriarty and junior middle blocker Lauren Paolini were named to the All-Big 12 First Team ... · In its 12 Big 12 Conference matches, Texas has been impressive, ranking near the top of virtually every league statistical category in conference play ... The Longhorns rank first in the league with 3.36 blocks p/g and .356 hitting percentage ... Texas' 17.91 kills p/g and 16.65 assists p/g rank second in league play.

Texas used a 19-kill effort by freshman outside hitter Juliann Faucette to knock of No. 12 Kansas State, 3-0 and clinch a share of the Big 12 Conference Championship at Gregory Gymnasium ... Texas shares the conference title with Nebraska, marking the first time UT has won a piece of the Big 12 Championship since 1997 ... Faucette recorded a kill/dig double-double, adding 11 digs, a .500 hitting percentage and three total blocks to her all-around performance ... sophomore opposite hitter Ashley Engle added 11 kills on .400 hitting and tallied six digs and five total blocks.
