Volleyball improves to No. 3 in AVCA Coaches Poll

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- After defeating then-No. 3 Nebraska and Kansas last week, the Texas Volleyball team moved up to No. 3 in the latest Bison/AVCA Coaches Poll, released Monday. The Longhorns move back to third in the poll after spending three weeks at the No. 4 position. Texas opened the season ranked third in the preseason poll and has now been ranked in the top 10 of the AVCA Top 25 for 40 consecutive weeks. Texas started last week with a 3-1 sweep of Nebraska on Wednesday and finished out the week with a sweep of Kansas on Saturday. Penn State is ranked No. 1 in the poll, while Stanford ranks second, Nebraska holds the No. 4 position and Washington weighs in at No. 5. Kansas State joins Nebraska and Texas as the only other Big 12 school in the poll, holding the No. 13 spot. Texas returns to action at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26 when it travels to Columbia to take on Missouri.
