Volleyball improves to No. 8 in AVCA poll

AUSTIN, Texas - After earning a road win at Kansas last week, the Texas Volleyball team has moved up to No. 8 in the AVCA Division I Coaches Top 25 Poll released Monday. Texas advanced one place in the poll after holding the No. 9 spot for the previous two weeks. UCLA owns the top spot in the poll, while Nebraska ranks second, Stanford is third, USC ranks fourth and California rounds out the top five. Hawaii is in the No. 6 position and Illinois is just ahead of Texas in the No. 7 spot. The Longhorns have now been ranked in the AVCA Poll for 122-straight weeks, dating back to the 2004 season. Texas returns to action on Wednesday, Nov. 9 when it travels to Texas Tech. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m. Central.
