Volleyball improves to No. 9 in AVCA poll

AUSTIN, Texas - After knocking off Baylor and Missouri last week, the Texas Volleyball team has moved up to No. 9 in the AVCA Division I Coaches Top 25 Poll released Monday. Texas advanced one place in the poll after holding the No. 10 spot for the previous three weeks. Nebraska moved into the top spot after handing Illinois its first loss of the season, while No. 2 California, No. 3 USC, No. 4 Stanford and the fifth-ranked Illini round out the top five. The Longhorns have now been ranked in the AVCA Poll for 120-straight weeks, dating back to the 2004 season. Texas returns to action on Friday, Oct. 28 when it plays host to No. 14 Iowa State. First serve is set for 8 p.m. Central on Longhorn Network.
