Allison earns Big 12 Player of the Week honors

AUSTIN, Texas - Texas sophomore setter Hannah Allison has been named the Big 12 Player of the Week after leading the Longhorns to victories over Baylor and Missouri last week. The award is the first player of the week honor of Allison's career and the first offensive player of the week award for Texas in 2011.
The Siloam Springs, Ark., native set the Big 12's leading offense to a .354 team attack mark and averaged 10.43 assists, 1.71 digs and 1.00 blocks per-set in UT's two wins last week.
In Texas, 3-1 road victory at Baylor, Allison dished out 43 assists and added 10 digs for her fourth assist/dig double-double of the season. She set the Horns to a .310 attack mark in the win and equaled a season-best with six total blocks.
Allison was stellar in the Horns' 3-0 win over Missouri, setting UT's attack to a .431 team hitting percentage, while tallying 30 assists, two digs and a block.
Allison and her Texas teammates return to action on Friday, Oct. 28 when they play host to No. 15 Iowa State. First serve is set for 8 p.m. Central on Longhorn Network.
