Kickin' it with Kisner: Oct. 20

Oct. 20, 2008

Hey Y'all,

What an exciting week we had in Texas sports!

Last week we traveled to our rival, Texas A&M. It was an extremely exciting environment in which to play. The fans were exceptionally loud, and it was almost impossible to hear each other on the court. Going into the game, we knew it would be a battle until the last ball hit the floor. It was a true test to see where we were as a team at the halfway point in Big 12 play. Going into the break tied 1-1, we re-focused and came out for set three with a new mentality. A&M had the momentum going into the break, and it was back to the best of three sets. We ended up coming out of the gate strong after the break and ended the match in four sets.

On Friday, we had a quick turnaround and played a home match against a very good Missouri team. Our goal was to stay consistent and focused for three straight sets. Our offense and our servers did a great job, and it was awesome to be home again in front of our fans. We ended up winning the match in three sets and started the weekend off the right way as our football team was faced Missouri the following evening.

Congrats to our football team, they played a great game on Saturday and represented Texas extremely well in front of a national audience!

This week, we are traveling to Lubbock to take on another in-state rival, Texas Tech, and then we are home again on Friday against BYU.

Have a great week, and hope to see y'all out at Gregory this coming Friday at 6:30pm.

Hook 'Em,

Heather
