The Longhorns are ranked No. 10 in the current AVCA Division I Coaches Top 25 Poll (Oct. 17)  ... Texas has now been ranked in the AVCA Top 25 for 119 consecutive weeks, dating back to 2004 ... UT opponents in the poll include No. 9 Penn State, No. 13 Florida, No. 14 Minnesota, No. 15 Iowa State, No. 17 Pepperdine and No. 22 Oklahoma.                       

Texas holds the No. 10 spot in the most recent Volleyball Magazine Poll (Oct. 18) ...  Texas' lone Big 12 foe in the poll is No. 15 Iowa State ... four of UT's non-conference opponents are ranked (No. 9 Penn State, No. 11 Florida, No. 14 Minnesota, No. 17 Pepperdine). 

Texas improved to 5-1 in the Big 12 with its sweep victory last weekend at Kansas State ... the Horns hit a season-best .463 as a team in the win, while sophomore outside hitter Bailey Webster led the way with 15 kills on .778 hitting. 

Through Texas' first 16 matches senior middle blocker Rachael Adams is leading the way for the Longhorns ... the All-American ranks third in the Big 12 with her .379 hitting percentage and second in the Big 12 with 1.31 blocks per-set ... she averaged 1.80 blocks per-set at the elite Nike Big Four Classic (Sept. 9-10) and went on to win Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honors ... Adams currently ranks 22nd in the NCAA in hitting and 26th in blocking. 

Senior middle blocker Rachael Adams has been named a Top 10 finalist for the 2011 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award ... to be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as a senior and have notable achievements in community, classroom, character and competition. 

Senior middle blocker Rachael Adams has benefitted greatly from the return of Sha'Dare McNeal who was missing from the Horns front row in 13 matches after injuring her knee in the season opener ... McNeal's return has allowed Adams to have more one-on-one opportunities and boost her hitting percentage 229 points ... Adams has hit .591 in the two matches since McNeal's return after hitting .362 in the first 14 matches. 

Since head coach Jerritt Elliott arrived in Austin, the Longhorns have emerged as the dominant volleyball program in the state of Texas ... the Longhorns have posted an 84-8 (.913) record against in-state opponents during the Elliott era, including a 21-0 mark against Texas Tech and a 19-1 mark against Baylor ... UT has won 11-straight and 58 of its last 59 over in-state foes ... before Texas' loss to Texas A&M on Sept. 16, 2010, UT had won 47-straight matches versus in-state foes with the streak dating back to  Oct. 16, 2004. 

In its Big 12 Conference matches, Texas has shined, hitting a league best .310, while limited opponents to the league's second-lowest hitting mark (.186) ... the Horns rank atop the Big 12 with 14.59 kills and 13.50 assists per-set ... sophomore Bailey Webster ranks first with a .432 attack mark, while senior Rachael Adams ranks second with a .390 hitting percentage ... sophomore Sarah Palmer's 0.32 service aces per-set rank fourth in the Big 12.
