· Longhorns' senior setter Michelle Moriarty was named Big 12 Player of the Week on Oct. 15 after leading UT to sweeps of Baylor and Kansas last week ... The award is the fourth in the last six weeks for Texas ... Moriarty posted 16.33 assists per-game for the week, while adding 2.50 digs per-game ... She also led UT to a .404 hitting percentage against the Bears and Jayhawks.

· The Longhorns extended their season-best winning streak to eight matches with its three-game sweep of Kansas (Oct. 13) ... Freshman outside hitter Juliann Faucette headlined the Horns on the night with 22 kills on .432 hitting, while tallying nine digs and four total blocks ... Sophomore opposite hitter Ashley Engle added a kill/dig double-double with 11 kills and 13 digs and senior outside hitter Jen Christian registered 10 kills.

· In its eight Big 12 Conference matches, Texas has been impressive, ranking near the top of virtually every league statistical category in league play ... The Longhorns rank first in the league with 3.12 blocks p/g and rank second in hitting percentage (.339), assists (16.73) and kills (17.90) ... Individually, Juliann Faucette and Destinee Hooker rank first and second in kills p/g with 5.17 and 4.92 respectively ... Texas used a 22-kill outing by freshman outside hitter Juliann Faucette to down Kansas, 3-0 (30-14, 30-22, 30-21) on Oct 13 ... Faucette hit .432 on the night and notched 10 digs to pace the Texas attack and sophomore opposite hitter Ashley Engle posted her second kill/dig double-double of the season with 11 kills and 13 digs ... senior outside hitter Jen Christian joined them in double figures, posting a season-high 10 kills against the Jayhawks ... senior setter Michelle Moriarty steadied the Texas attack on the night with 51 assists and six digs, while senior libero Alyson Jennings highlighted the defense with a match-high 16 digs ... junior middle blocker Lauren Paolini collected nine kills and posted a .444 attack mark in the win and the Longhorns out-hit the Jayhawks .388-to.081.

After winning games one and two, Texas fought off Oklahoma's victories in game three and four to drop the Sooners, 3-2 (30-27, 30-25, 27-30, 25-30, 15-11) ... Destinee Hooker highlighted the Horns' attack with a career and match-high 26 kills on .364 hitting, while Ashley Engle recorded her sixth straight kill/dig double-double with her 22-kill, 10-dig performance ...
