Match 15: No. 10/11 TEXAS (10-4, 3-1 Big 12) vs. Texas Tech (14-5, 0-4 Big 12) SERIES INFO Freshman Khat Bell shined in Texas' sweep victory against Texas A&M last week, playing her first collegiate match at middle blocker ... the Mesquite, Texas, native headlined the Horns' attack with a career-best .611 hitting percentage and a team-high 4.00 kills and 5.00 points per-set ... she added a team-best two service aces in the win and chipped in four digs and a pair of blocks en route to earn Big 12 Rookie of the Week honors. Through Texas' first 13 matches senior middle blocker Rachael Adams is leading the way for the Longhorns ... the All-American ranks third in the Big 12 with her .362 hitting percentage and first in the Big 12 with 1.42 blocks per-set ... she averaged 1.80 blocks per-set at the elite Nike Big Four Classic (Sept. 9-10) and went on to win Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honors ... Adams currently ranks 17th in the NCAA in blocking. The Horns are currently riding a 27-match home winning streak against Big 12 foes and a 22-match home winning streak against all opponents After running a 6-2 offense in its first nine matches of the season, Texas has switched to a 5-1 system in its last five matches ... in the first nine matches, Texas hit .212 as a team and posted a 6-3 record ... since switching to the 5-1 system, UT is hitting .286 as a unit and owns a 4-1 record. After a slow start to her sophomore campaign, opposite hitter Bailey Webster has come on strong for the Horns ... Webster hit .210 and averaged 1.74 kills in UT's first eight matches, but has shined in her last six outings, hitting .410 with 2.61 kills per-set. Since head coach Jerritt Elliott arrived in Austin, the Longhorns have emerged as the dominant volleyball program in the state of Texas ... the Longhorns have posted a 83-8 (.912) record against in-state opponents during the Elliott era, including a 20-0 mark against Texas Tech and a 19-1 mark against Baylor ... before Texas' loss to Texas A&M on Sept. 16, 2010, UT had won 47-straight matches versus in-state foes with the streak dating back to Oct. 16, 2004.
