Sophomore outside hitter Destinee Hooker led the way for UT, connecting for a match-high 17 kills on . 615 hitting, while committing just one error ... Sophomore opposite hitter Ashley Engle posted her first kill/dig double-double of the season in the victory, tallying 11 kills and 10 digs.

· Texas downed No. 17 Kansas State (Oct. 6), earning its first five-game victory of the season, 3-2 ... Senior setter Michelle Moriarty steadied the Texas attack in the match, registering 55 assists, 10 digs and four blocks, while posting her second straight assist/dig double-double ... Junior middle blocker Lauren Paolini helped the Horns to victory with 11 kills, a .611 attack mark, zero hitting errors and nine total blocks.

Moriarty ranks 20th all-time with 827 career digs and ties with Jennings for 20th place with 372 career games played ... Magee ranks eighth in block assists (335), 11th in total blocks (366) and 16th in kills (958).

· Texas ranks 12th nationally in attendance with an average of 2,099 fans at its 2007 home dates ... UT fans packed Gregory Gym Friday, Sept. 7 when 2,637 fans watched Texas take on Pepperdine, marking the largest crowd this season ... Texas ranked ninth nationally with an average of 2,169 fans at its 2006 home dates.

· Longhorns' sophomore outside hitter Destinee Hooker was named Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week and Big 12 Conference Player of the Week on Oct. 1 after leading Texas to a pair of Big 12 Conference victories over Texas Tech and Colorado ... Hooker posted 5.43 kills per-game, while hitting at a .431 clip ... the sophomore averaged 1.57 digs and 1.29 blocks for the week and led Texas with a team-high 6.57 points per-game ... the award was her second of the season and fourth of her career.

LAST TIME OUT: BAYLOR (Oct. 10, 2007)
· Sophomore outside hitter Destinee Hooker totaled 17 kills on .615 hitting to lead Texas to a 3-0 (30-16, 30-22, 30-24) sweep of Baylor to extend its winning streak to seven matches ... Hooker committed just one error on 26 swings in the match after playing the first two games without an error ... sophomore opposite hitter Ashley Engle joined Hooker in double figures with 11 kills on .421 hitting and added 10 digs for her first kill/dig double-double of the season ... senior middle blocker Brandy Magee posted 10 kills on the night, posting zero errors and hitting at an .833 clip ... the Longhorns out-hit the Bears .421-to-.129 on the night and posted 58 kills to Baylor's 34 ... in the match, senior setter Michelle Moriarty led the Texas attack with 47 assists and nine digs, while senior libero Alyson Jennings chipped in nine digs of her own.

LAST TIME AGAINST KANSAS (Nov. 1, 2006)
· Outside hitter Destinee Hooker hammered out a match-high 15 kills and three other Longhorns recorded double figure kill totals as Texas dropped Kansas, 3-0 (30-20, 30-25, 30-20) on Nov. 1, 2006 at Gregory Gymnasium ... Hooker highlighted the Texas attack on the night, hitting .364, while middle blocker Lauren Paolini, middle blocker Jennifer Todd and outside hitter Jen Christian each finished with 10 kills apiece ... Todd and Christian hit at a .400 clip in the match and Paolini hit .450 in addition to recording a career-high seven block assists ... opposite hitter Ashley Engle anchored the Horns' defense with a match-high 13 digs, while Alyson Jennings tallied 10 digs.
