Every week throughout the 2004 season, the Texas volleyball team will all respond to a question posed to them by TexasSports.com.
Everyone has that one TV show that they CANNOT miss. If they aren't sitting in front of the television, then either the VCR or DVR is set to record it, or a friend is on standby with a back-up copy just in case something happens to their own. TexasSports.com asked the Texas volleyball team what one television show each player can't live without, and by the sounds of it, some of them have several shows they can't miss. Actually, it started out as just a simple question to each player, and it turned into a discussion of the team's TV viewing habits, moderated by freshman outside hitter Jen Christian.
Sarah Holloway: We don't have time to watch TV! I used to watch The Bachelor, but now that we have matches on Wednesdays, I can't do that anymore.
Alyson Jennings: The Real World and The Apprentice. I can't miss those shows.
Lauren Galler: South Park because it's hilarious. A lot of people didn't realize that in our media guide, the quote I have listed ("That's ignorant. Don't be ignorant!") is from South Park. But I don't think a lot of people realized that, so it just looks a little foolish.
Jessica Curtis: Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Even though it went off the air a long time ago, it's never old and it's still really funny.
Jen Christian: My favorite TV show is not on anymore ñ Rich Girls ñ which is really disappointing because I was a big fan. So, my new favorite TV show is Fresh Prince ó no ... Will & Grace ó no, Friends. And my favorite reality show is Real World, and I would SO be on that show if I could.
Lauren Sledge: Newlyweds!
Christian: Oooh! I like that one, too.
Michelle Moriarty: Friends because it makes me laugh. And now I get to watch reruns everyday. And Saved by the Bell, the high school years.
Christian: No, The College Years!
Michelle Moriarty: No, the high school years. The junior high years is annoying, but I like it. The College Years just aren't the same. It has to be the high school years.
Jenny Andrew: Alias, and I'm becoming a fan of Nip Tuck.
Christian: Nip Tuck? Oh dear Lord! Actually, I've never watched it.
Andrew: It's so cool.
Bethany Howden: Umm, I don't know what my favorite TV show is.
Sledge: Say Newlyweds.
Christian: You know, the more you say Newlyweds, the more I want to add that to my list.
Howden: The Bachelor.
Christian: I think I would watch Newlyweds over Friends if they were on at the same time.
Brandy: I would have to say either Friends or Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
Leticia Armstrong: Sister, Sister!
Howden: Good one, Tea! Good one!
Christian: Oooh! I love that show!
(The team started singing the show's theme song at this point.)
Armstrong: I like to watch that show over and over.
Mira Topic: Friends. I always watch that show. They show the American version in Croatia with Croatian subtitles.
Jennings: You know what other show I really like? Extreme Makeover Home Edition. It's so good.
Holloway: Oh, I love that show, too!
Jennings: Last night they had another really big family that really needed some help! It was great!
