Texas used a 20-kill performance by freshman outside hitter Juliann Faucette to knock off Texas A&M, 3-0 (Oct. 3) ... the Longhorns fifth straight victory moved Texas to 9-3 on the year and 5-1 in Big 12 play and Texas A&M fell to 12-5 overall and 2-5 in league play ... Faucette anchored the Texas attack which hit .352 on the night and out-hit the Aggies by more than 100 points ... sophomore outside hitter Destinee Hooker and junior middle blocker Lauren Paolini added 13 kills apiece for UT, while Faucette added 11 digs for her third career kill/dig double-double.

LAST TIME AGAINST KANSAS STATE (Nov. 15, 2006)
Despite faltering in game three Texas downed Kansas State, 3-1 at Ahearn Fieldhouse ... opposite hitter Ashley Engle tallied a match-high 20 kills on the night, while Destinee Hooker and Jennifer Todd joined her in double figures with 13 and 12 kills, respectively ... Engle added eight digs and three total blocks to her match-high 20 kills, while Michelle Moriarty posted 55 assists, five kills, seven digs and five total blocks in the Texas win. Hooker recorded 13 kills and hit at .321 clip on the night, while libero Alyson Jennings anchored the defense with a team-high 19 digs.

· Texas was ranked No. 7 in the CSTV/AVCA poll, released Monday, Oct. 1, marking the fifth straight week UT has claimed that position ... Texas opened the season ranked No. 4 in the preseason poll, equaling its best preseason ranking in program history (1998).

· Longhorns' sophomore outside hitter Destinee Hooker was named Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week and Big 12 Conference Player of the Week on Oct. 1 after leading Texas to a pair of Big 12 Conference victories over Texas Tech and Colorado ... Hooker posted 5.43 kills per-game, while hitting at a .431 clip ... the sophomore averaged 1.57 digs and 1.29 blocks for the week and led Texas with a team-high 6.57 points per-game ... the award was her second of the season and fourth of her career.

· Texas extended its winning streak to five games with its 3-0 victory over Texas A&M (Oct. 3) ... the win was UT's ninth win its last 10 chances, only losing to No. 1 Nebraska in Lincoln ... Against the Aggies, freshman outside hitter Juliann Faucette registered a match-high 20 kills on .395 hitting and tallied 11 digs to post her third career kill/dig double-double ... Senior setter Michelle Moriarty helmed the offense with 57 assists and helped the defense with a match-high 12 digs.

· Freshman outside hitter Juliann Faucette led Texas to a 3-0 win over Colorado (Sept. 28), recording a match-high 18 kills, while hitting at a .412 clip ... As a team, Texas hit .400 for the match, out-hitting the Buffs who posted a .211 attack mark ... Sophomore outside hitter Destinee Hooker added 17 kills on .353 hitting, junior middle blocker Lauren Paolini and posted 11 kills and senior middle blocker Brandy Magee tallied 10 kills and posted an .833 attack mark.

· In Texas' 3-1 win over Texas Tech on Sept. 26 sophomore opposite hitter Ashley Engle returned to the Texas lineup after missing seven matches and posted 15 kills, six digs and a career-best nine blocks ... Sophomore outside hitter Destinee Hooker registered a match-high 21 kills on .500 hitting to pace the UT offense, while junior middle blocker Lauren Paolini and freshman outside hitter Juliann Faucette each contributed 10 kills.

· At Texas Tech, the Longhorns posted their best blocking effort in over five years, tallying 20.0 total blocks ... The mark was the best UT has posted since registering 22.0 blocks against Akron on Sept. 13, 2002 ... Senior middle blocker Brandy Magee (11 blocks), sophomore opposite hitter Ashley Engle (nine blocks) and sophomore outside hitter Destinee Hooker (eight blocks) all set new career-highs in blocks against the Red Raiders.
