• Junior outside hitter Destinee Hooker and freshman setter Michelle Kocher have been named the Big 12 Conference Player and Rookie of the Week after leading the Longhorns to victories over Iowa State and Kansas last week ... the award is the sixth weekly honor of Hooker's career and the first for Kocher ... Hooker registered 5.57 kill per-set, while hitting .464 last week ... Kocher averaged 10.86 assists per-set and led UT to a .345 attack mark.

• In the most recent release of the NCAA Statistics (Sept. 28), the Longhorns rank fifth on the national charts in hitting with their .315 attack mark ... Texas ranks No. 17 in blocks per-set with 2.72 ... senior All-America middle blocker Lauren Paolini ranks No. 4 nationally in hitting percentage with a .446 attack mark. ... junior All-America opposite hitter Ashley Engle holds the No. 26 position with 0.50 aces per-set ... junior All-America outside hitter Destinee Hooker ranks 25th in the NCAA with 4.14 kills per-set.

• Senior middle blocker Lauren Paolini has shined in Texas' three Big 12 Conference matches ... committing zero errors and hitting at an .800 clip against Nebraska (9/20) and recording zero miscues, while hitting .600 at Kansas (9/27) ... Paolini's lone hitting error came against Iowa State (9/24) ... she is hitting .446 on the year and a league-best .620 in conference matches.

• Junior libero Heather Kisner had some big shoes to fill in 2008, stepping into the UT libero spot that was held by Alyson Jennings for four years ... Kisner has responded well, averaging 4.42 digs per-set and 4.55 digs per-set in league play to spearhead the Texas defense ... the Sugar Land, Texas, native ranks third in the Big 12 in digs per-set.

• In 16 career national television appearances, junior outside hitter Destinee Hooker has shined ... she is averaging 3.75 kills on .312 hitting in 2008's three TV matches, after posting 4.85 kills and 2.00 digs per-set on TV in 2007 (63 kills in 13 sets) and ... in Texas' eight nationally televised matches in 2006, Hooker recorded 124 kills, including a 4.00 kill per-game average (31 sets) in those matches ... Hooker has averaged 14.50 kills per-match and 4.14 kills per-set when the Horns have appeared on national television in three seasons on the Forty Acres.
