The Longhorns are ranked No. 8 in the current AVCA Division I Coaches Top 25 Poll (Sept. 26)  ... Texas has now been ranked in the AVCA Top 25 for 116 consecutive weeks, dating back to 2004 ... UT opponents in the poll include No. 9 Penn State, No. 10 Minnesota, No. 13 Florida, No. 16 Iowa State, No. 19 Pepperdine and No. 25 Oklahoma.
  
Texas holds the No. 9 spot in the most recent Volleyball Magazine Poll (Sept. 27) ...  the only Big 12 foe in the poll is No. 16 Iowa State ... four of UT's non-conference opponents are ranked (No. 10 Minnesota, No. 11 Florida, No. 12 Penn State and No. 18 Pepperdine).

The Longhorns began to hit their stride in their 2011 Big 12 opener, sweeping past a one-loss Kansas team and hitting a season-best .384 ... Freshman outside hitter Khat Bell led all Longhorns with 13 kills and added six digs, while senior All-America middle blocker Rachael Adams connected for 10 kills on .467 hitting and freshman outside hitter Haley Eckerman pounded out 10 kills and hit at a .500 clip.

In Texas' final non-conference matchup, the Horns rolled past a previously unbeaten TCU squad, 3-0 in Fort Worth ... senior middle blocker Rachael Adams headlined the Horns' offense with 11 kills on .471 hitting in the win, while sophomore opposite hitter Bailey Webster recorded nine kills and hit at a .692 clip.

Through Texas' first 11 matches senior middle blocker Rachael Adams is leading the way for the Longhorns ... the All-American ranks third in the Big 12 with her .380 hitting percentage and first in the Big 12 with 1.52 blocks per-set ... she averaged 1.80 blocks per-set at the elite Nike Big Four Classic (Sept. 9-10) and went on to win Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honors ... Adams currently ranks sixth in the NCAA in blocking.

After running a 6-2 offense in its first nine matches of the season, Texas has switched to a five 5-1 system in its last two matches ... in the first nine matches, Texas hit .212 as a team and posted a 6-3 record ... since switching to the 5-1 system, UT is hitting .352 as a unit and owns a 2-0 record.

After  a slow start to her sophomore campaign, opposite hitter Bailey Webster has come on strong for the Horns ... Webster hit .210 and average 1.74 kills in UT's first eight matches, but has shined in her last three outings, hitting .382 with 2.60 kills per-set.

In his 13 seasons as a collegiate head coach, Jerritt Elliott has recorded 299 victories and posted a 299-85 record ... Elliott has recorded 249 of his victories during his 11 seasons at Texas ... he is the second-winningest UT coach, only trailing Mick Haley who won 522 matches in 17 seasons at Texas (1980-96).

In 16 years of Big 12 Conference play the Longhorns own a 230-68 (.772) mark in league action ... Texas' all-time Big 12 record ranks second to only Nebraska ... during head coach Jerritt Elliott's 10-year tenure, Texas has posted a 155-45 (.775) record against Big 12 foes ... the Longhorns' 19-1 record in 2007 and 2009 are their best marks since the inception of the league.
