The Longhorns are ranked No. 8 in the most recent AVCA Division I Coaches Poll (Sept. 13) ... UT has now been ranked in the Top 10 for 62 straight weeks and has been ranked in the AVCA Top 25 for 98 consecutive weeks, dating back to 2004 ... Texas fell out of the top five on Sept. 13, snapping its 34-week streak in the top-five ... UT opponents in the poll include No. 1 Stanford, No. 3 Florida, No. 4 Nebraska, No. 5 Illinois, No. 11 Iowa State and No. 24 Long Beach State ... UT was No. 3 in the preseason poll.

HORNS SUFFER SETBACK AT A&M
The Horns suffered their first loss to an in-state opponent since 2004 and their first lost to Texas A&M since that same season when they fell to the Aggies, 3-0 on Sept. 16 ... junior middle blocker Rachael Adams provided the majority of the Texas offense in the loss, connecting for 11 kills ... Texas was error-prone in the defeat, committing 33 errors, while A&M only earned 49 of its 75 points.
UT IN BIG 12 PLAY
In 14 years of Big 12 Conference play the Longhorns own a 211-67 (.759) mark in league action ... Texas' all-time Big 12 record ranks second to only Nebraska ... during head coach Jerritt Elliott's nine-year tenure, Texas has posted a 136-44 (.756) record against Big 12 foes ... the Longhorns' 19-1 record in 2007 and 2009 are their best marks since the inception of the league.

ADAMS ANCHORING THE TEXAS MIDDLE
Junior middle blocker Rachael Adams shined for the Longhorns at the Nike Big Four Classic en route to earning all-tournament team accolades ... she hit .303 for the weekend with 2.12 kills and 1.25 blocks per-set ... in Texas' loss to Florida, Adams connected for a career-best 14 kills on .455 hitting and posted match-high eight blocks ... she kept her hot streak going at Texas A&M and in her last two matches, Adams is carrying the Horns with a team-best 3.12 kills and 1.38 blocks per-set, while hitting a team-best .277.
BANNISTER BREAKS OUT
Freshman outside hitter Ashley Bannister posted a breakout match in Texas' 3-2 loss to No. 4 Florida ... the freshman earned her first career start in the match and responded with 12 kills on .375 hitting, playing three rotations in the Longhorns' new modified 6-2 system.
