Texas swept past Utah and New Mexico State last weekend (Sept. 5-6), posting a pair of 3-0 victories ... junior All-American Destinee Hooker led the charge over the weekend, recording 3.50 kills and 2.00 digs per-set, while hitting at a .390 clip ... in Texas' two victories it out-blocked its opponents, 24-to-11.5 ... senior All-American Lauren Paolini highlighted the Horns with 11 stuff blocks in two matches, averaging 1.83 blocks per-set ... freshman setter Michelle Kocher continued to excel against the Utes and Aggies, averaging 9.83 assists and 2.83 digs per-set, while notching her second collegiate double-double against NMSU. Freshman setter Michelle Kocher has not missed a beat making the transition from high school to college, assuming the Horns' helm vacated by three-time All-American Michelle Moriarty ... Kocher is averaging 9.71 assists per-set and 2.57 digs per-set in her first four collegiate matches ... the freshman has recorded two assist-dig double doubles to date, accomplishing the feat against Stanford (8/31) and New Mexico State (9/6). The Horns' current 15-match home winning streak is the fifth-best in school history and spans from Sept. 7, 2007 to present ... the Longhorns; regular-season winning streak of 21 matches was snapped against Stanford on Aug. 31, but it stands as the third-longest streak in UT history.
