The Longhorns are ranked No. 10 in the current AVCA Division I Coaches Top 25 Poll (Sept. 5)  ... Texas has now been ranked in the AVCA Top 25 for 113 consecutive weeks, dating back to 2004 ... UT opponents in the poll include No. 2 Penn State, No. 3 Stanford, No. 6 Minnesota, No. 7 Florida, No. 17 Iowa State and No. 18 Oklahoma.
  
Texas holds the No. 11 spot in the most recent Volleyball Magazine Poll (Sept. 6) ...  Big 12 foes in the poll include No. 17 Iowa State and No. 18 Oklahoma ... four of Texas' non-conference opponents are ranked (No. 2 Penn State, No. 4 Stanford, No. 6 Florida and No. 7 Minnesota).

Through Texas' first four matches senior middle blocker Rachael Adams is leading the way for the Longhorns ... the All-American ranks second in the Big 12 with her .479 hitting percentage and 1.71 blocks per-set, while ranking seventh in the league with her 4.18 points per-set.

Texas has been selected to finish first in the 2011 Big 12 Conference race in a vote of league head coaches ... the preseason ranking marks the third time in four seasons (2008, 2009) that the Longhorns have been picked to win the league ... UT received seven of the possible nine first-place votes, while tallying 63 points overall.

Senior middle blocker Rachael Adams has been named a candidate for the 2011 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award ... she is one of 30 NCAA volleyball student-athletes nominated for this year's award .... to be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence - community, classroom, character and competition.
