Volleyball to appear on television six times

AUSTIN, Texas -- The University of Texas volleyball team will have six of its regular-season matches televised on four different networks during the 2007 campaign, it was announced Friday.

Texas kicks off its 2007 national television calendar on ESPNU when the Horns play host to Pepperdine in the Time Warner Cable Texas Invitational. The match is slated for a 6:30 p.m. start on Friday, Sept. 7 at Gregory Gymnasium. ESPNU will also carry UT's first match of the State Farm Lone Star Showdown on Wednesday, Oct. 3 when Texas travels to Texas A&M for a 6:30 p.m. contest.

Fox Sports Net (FSN) will pick up the Longhorns match on Wednesday, Oct. 24 when UT plays host to defending national champion and top-ranked Nebraska at 6:30 p.m. College Sports Television (CSTV) will pick up the other half of the Texas-Nebraska rivalry, broadcasting the Big 12 Conference opener on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 6:30 p.m.

The Longhorns will have two home matches televised on Texas Student Television (TSTV) in 2007. Texas' match against Oklahoma on Wednesday, Oct. 31 will air on TSTV and two weeks later the Horns match on Wednesday, Nov. 14 against Texas Tech will cap Texas' television calendar.

Texas begins its 2007 calendar on Friday, Aug. 24 when it plays match one of its two match series with Penn State in State College, Pa. The match is slated for a 6 p.m. (Central) start and the Saturday match is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. as well.

All of the Longhorns' 2007 home matches will stream for free on TexasSports.TV.
