Letters from camp: Michelle Moriarty
Michelle Moriarty, Freshman setter Finally getting to Texas was the best feeling ever! I had a lot of mixed emotions coming into preseason camp, but I was really excited to finally start training. I knew coming here that I would work harder than I probably ever had before and that everyone around me would be working just as hard. That has definitely been true and it has been fun getting to play with people who care so much and who are so good. Being with all my teammates off the court has been just as much fun as being on the court with them. After every practice we sit down to eat together and then all go take ice baths together in the training room so we don't get too sore and so our bodies recover faster from all the training we've been doing. Normally, the ice baths would not be much fun but we keep each other entertained by joking around and singing. Some of the girls here keep me laughing all the time! Last night, Alyson (Jennings) and I got all of our stuff moved into our dorm room, which was so exciting! Everybody had to stay in temporary dorm assignments for the first week of preseason so the team could be closer together. After a couple of moves into and out of storage we have our room set up! We still need a couple of things to make it a little more like home, but it's getting there. Now that we're all moved in we're just working hard and getting ready for the season and school to start. It's gonna be a great year for us!
