Letters from camp: Alyson Jennings
Alyson Jennings, Freshman defensive specialist Becoming a Longhorn has been everything and more than what I expected. I got a chance to meet the girls on the team on my recruiting trip so I knew I was definitely going to have a blast when I got here. The first day I arrived last week, I was a little nervous moving in but once I was with (fellow first-semester freshman) Michelle (Moriarty) I knew we were going to have a lot of fun together and I had nothing to be nervous about. Last Tuesday night we got all our new uniforms and equipment and that was probably one of the coolest things ever!!! We had one more day before practices started and I’m not going to lie, I was a little scared. Once practice started, though, all my nerves were gone. The double practice sessions have been tough, but were all surviving and becoming a team. We’ve had seven good practices and more to come. I’ve had such a good time getting to know all of my new teammates and I look forward to the season ahead.
