Volleyball Block Party and Children's Clinic scheduled for August 18
It is time to celebrate the kickoff of another great season of Texas Volleyball at the annual Block Party! Bring out the whole family or the whole team on Saturday, Aug. 18 for fun, food and a chance to hang out with the UT Volleyball team. Gregory Gym will host the day's festivities, which begin at 3:30 p.m. with a free children's clinic. Kids entering the eighth grade and younger will have the opportunity to learn skills and tips from their favorite players. At 5 p.m., Texas fans will get their first glimpse of the nation's second-ranked recruiting class when the Longhorns compete in an intrasquad exhibition match. In addition to its talented freshmen, Texas returns an all-star cast that includes hard-hitters Ashley Engle and Destinee Hooker along with two-time team MVP Alyson Jennings, UT career assists leader Michelle Moriarty and Texas' all-time leader in hitting percentage Brandy Magee. After all the action, fans can sit down to a Chick-fil-A dinner with Texas Volleyball coaches, players and exes for only $5. There will be plenty of photo opportunities for pictures with the Longhorns players, so don't forget your camera.
