Volleyball announces pairs for Collegiate Beach Nationals
April 15, 2009 AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas Volleyball head coach Jerritt Elliott has announced the Longhorns' playing pairs for the 2009 Collegiate Beach Nationals. This year's event is being held Saturday, April 18 at 8:30 a.m. Pacific in Riverside, Calif. The Longhorns' first pair is comprised of All-Americans Ashley Engle and Lauren Paolini, while UT's second tandem is Kiley Hall and Heather Kisner. Texas' third pair is All-American Juliann Faucette and Amber Roberson and its fourth team is made up of Big 12 Freshman of the Year Michelle Kocher, Sydney Yogi and Jennifer Doris. The 2009 Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championship will be held at 3300 Market St. in downtown Riverside, in conjunction with the AVP Crocs Tour Riverside Open. Texas looks to defend its 2008 team title and A-flight title against Nebraska, Hawaii, USC, Utah, San Diego, North Carolina and UC Riverside. The Championship is part of the fourth annual Collegiate Nationals. The Longhorns' tandem of Engle and Hall claimed the A-flight championship at the 2008 championship, knocking off USC in the final, while Texas eight-player team totaled 14 points to claim the overall team championship.
