Volleyball split-squad posts 7-1 mark at Texas Tornados tourney
April 8, 2009 AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas Volleyball team played its final tournament of the spring season at the Texas Tornados College Tourney, posting a 7-1 record as it competed as two separate squads. Texas' white team of setter/opposite hitter Ashley Engle, middle blocker Lauren Paolini, middle blocker Elizabeth Graham, defensive specialist/outside hitter Kiley Hall, outside hitter Amber Roberson and defensive specialist Sydney Yogi posted a perfect 4-0 mark with victories over LSU, Stephen F. Austin, Rice and Tulane. The orange squad comprised of setter Michelle Kocher, middle blocker Jen Doris, middle blocker Rachael Adams, outside hitter Juliann Faucette, outside hitter Bailey Webster and libero Heather Kisner knocked off Wichita State, TCU and Louisiana Lafayette, while dropping a match to Arizona. Texas returns to action on Saturday, April 18 when it defends its beach title at the 2009 Collegiate Beach Nationals in Riverside, Calif.
