Adams and Faucette earn Volleyball Magazine All-America honors
Jan. 24, 2011
AUSTIN, Texas – The 2010 NCAA Semifinalist Texas Longhorns have placed two players on the Volleyball Magazine All-America First Team. Junior middle blocker Rachael Adams and senior outside hitter Juliann Faucette each earn their second honor of the year after receiving first-team lauds from the American Volleyball Coaches Association in December. Faucette earned her third career Volleyball Magazine honor after earning a first-team nod in 2007 and a second-team honor in 2009. Adams’ award marked the first of her career. Adams, a Cincinnati, Ohio, native enjoyed a breakout season in 2010, leading the NCAA with her .443 hitting percentage and pacing the Longhorns with her team-best 1.18 blocks per-set. She added All-Big 12 First Team, AVCA All-Central Region and NCAA All-Austin Regional Team accolades to her 2010 honor roll. Texas (27-6) ended its season in the NCAA Semifinals with a loss to eventual national champion Penn State. The Longhorns concluded the year ranked fourth in both the AVCA Coaches Poll and the Volleyball Magazine Poll. 2010 NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball All-Americans - VBM
