Five runners earn All-Region for Women's Cross Country

AUSTIN, Texas -- The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced five members of the Texas Women's Cross Country as recipients of All-Region honors. To earn an All-Region selection a runner must finish in the top 25 of the NCAA Regional. Five of the seven Longhorns were among the top 25 this past weekend at Waco in the South Central Regional Championships. Senior Mia Behm captured the honor for the third straight year after just missing out by one place as a freshman. She came in 23rd overall on Saturday. Sara Sutherland, Marielle Hall and Laleh Mojtabaeezamani all made it back-to-back seasons with All-Region honors. Sutherland paced the team with a fourth-place finish, climbing five spots from last year's regional meet. Hall was seventh overall, ending in the top 10 for her second straight year. Mojtabaeezamani finished in 22nd place. Earning her first All-Region honor was sophomore Megan Siebert. She had the third best time for UT which was good for 13th overall. The Longhorns will compete in the NCAA Championships next Monday, Nov. 21 in Terre Haute, Ind. after automatically qualifying with a second place finish at the South Central region on Saturday.
