AUSTIN, Texas -- Head coach Bev Kearney and the Longhorns were recognized as the 2005 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Champions on Saturday (Oct. 15) in pre-game ceremonies before the kickoff of the Texas-Colorado football game in Austin. Kearney, the Longhorns coaching staff, and the full squad were recognized in front of the sellout football crowd for bringing the fifth women's track and field NCAA title back to Austin. Competing with a mere seven performers, UT won the 2005 NCAA championship in June, winning the meet's final event (4x400 relay) to claim the title.
