Longhorns wrap up day three of IAAF World Championship

Day three of the 2011 IAAF World Championships continued with former Longhorns Sanya Richards-Ross, Marshevet Myers, and Michelle Carter competing in the finals of their respective events. Richards-Ross, the defending 400m champion posted a 51.32, for seventh place. Running the 100m, Myers finished eighth with a mark of 11.33. Carter recorded a mark of 61-3 (18.76m) for the ninth. Richards-Ross and Myers will continue in the World Championships as relay team members. Richards-Ross is a member of the 4x400 meters relay, while Myers is along side former Longhorns Alexandria Anderson and Bianca Knight in the 4x100 meters relay. Other notable former Texas Longhorns in Daegu, Korea are Allison Peter running the 200m and Melaine Walker running the 400m hurdles. The action can be seen on Universal Sports online.
