Women's Track and Field preview: Day three -- USA Outdoor Championships

INDIANAPOLIS -- Day three of the 2006 AT&T USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Carroll Track and Soccer Stadium will feature substantial Texas flavor in the late afternoon.

At 4:15 p.m. CDT, sophomore Alex Anderson (Chicago, Ill.), the 2006 USA Junior Champion in the 100 meters, will compete alongside UT senior LaTashia Kerr (Houston, Texas) in the 200-meter preliminary round. Freshman Destinee Hooker (San Antonio, Texas), the 2006 NCAA outdoor high jump champion, will begin the high jump competition beginning at 4:45 p.m. CDT.

Saturday's action also features a trio of Texas Exes. Marshevet Hooker, who scratched from Friday's 100-meter rounds, is slated for the long jump, which begins at 4:30 p.m. Sanya Richards and Moushami Robinson will chase the American record in the 400-meter final scheduled for 5:05 p.m. CDT. That event will air live on ESPN2 as part of the network's live two-hour telecast beginning at 5 p.m. CDT.

Kerr, the lone Longhorn to compete on day two, took 16th in the 400-meter semifinals in 55.37.
