STAMFORD, Conn. -- Texas sophomore middle distance runner Carlee Clark (Bozeman, Mont.) was named to the 2004-05 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VI (University Division) second team, announced the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). This honor comes on the heels of Clark being named first-team Academic All-Big 12 earlier this season as a health promotion and fitness major.
In order to be considered for the All-District VI team, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve while maintaining at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) in both undergrad and/or graduate work.
Clark is a four-time All-Big 12 performer in the middle distances for UT. Earlier this season, she garnered her fourth award by finishing third at the Big 12 Championships in the 1,000 meters. She won two races during the outdoor season, taking the 1,500 meters at the Texas Invitational (4:40.86) and the Texas Relays (4:35.06).
The Longhorns are currently preparing for the NCAA Championships in Sacramento, Calif. on June 8-11. The Texas women have seven athletes and two relays competing.
