Briscoe named to Capital One Academic All-District women's track & field/cross country team

AUSTIN, Texas -- Sophomore Shanay Briscoe was selected to the Capital One Academic All-District women's track & field/cross country second team on Thursday. Briscoe will be heading to the NCAA Championships next week in Des Moines, Iowa to compete in the high jump. Last year she earned All-America honors with a third place finish in the event at Nationals. She also repeated as the Big 12 Outdoor Champion in the event earlier this month. She has a 3.57 GPA and is majoring in marketing. To be eligible for the honor an athlete must maintain a GPA of 3.3 or better and have completed one year of school. Briscoe will compete in the high jump on Friday, June 8 at 4:30 p.m.
