Kincy tabbed Longhorn P.R.I.D.E. Student-Athlete of the Month

AUSTIN, Texas -- Junior track and field standout Temeka Kincy (Indianapolis, Ind.) was named Longhorn P.R.I.D.E. Student Athlete for the month of April. Kincy was selected for her commitment to academics, excellence on the track and contribution to the Austin community.

Kincy was the 2006 recipient of the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award and is currently a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Council. The pre-med major has a 3.68 GPA and was selected to the Fall 2005 and Spring 2006 Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll.

UT's top 800-meter runner provisionally qualified during the NCAA Indoor track and field campaign, and met the NCAA regional standard for the outdoor portion of the schedule. An integral piece of the mid-distance group at Texas, she anchored UT's 4x800-meter relay to the Texas Relays' Championship, and returned to help the 4x400-meter relay met the NCAA regional mark in the preliminary race of the Texas Relays. Kincy ran a season-best 2:08.65 in winning the Texas Twilight on Saturday, March 24.
