Texas at the last home meet of outdoor season
UT head coach Bev Kearney's squad competes in its final home meet of the season Saturday, April 19 as UT hosts the Texas Twilight competition at Mike A. Myers Stadium ... The meet, which features men's and women's competition, begins at 2 p.m. with throwing events, while the running competition starts at 4:30 p.m. Central.

Texas is ranked No. 18 in this week's U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national poll, down from 13th in last week's outdoor rankings, which were the first of the outdoor campaign.

Last Time Out
Selected members of the Longhorn squad competed last Saturday, April 12 at the Javelina Invitational at Texas A&M-Kingsville... The top performance was turned in by senior pole vaulter Ashley Laughlin.... Laughlin (Marble Falls, Texas/Marble Falls HS) broke her own school record in the pole vault with a winning leap of 13 feet, 4.25 inches, besting her former outdoor pole vault school mark of 13 feet, 1.5 inches which she set at the 2007 Big 12 Championships last May ... Sophomore Jordyn Brown claimed firsts in the shot put and discus events ... Brown (Mesquite, Texas/Mesquite HS) had a winning shot put toss of 52 feet, 8.75 inches (16.07 meters), her second-best shot put effort of the outdoor campaign ... It also was a NCAA regional qualifying throw, her third qualifier of the outdoor season ... Brown also won the discus event with a 152 feet, 11 inches (46.62 m) effort, her second-best performance of the season in that event as well.

Next up: Penn Relays
Texas will send a contingent of its runners and throwers to the prestigious Penn Relays in Philadelphia next weekend, as the two-day event runs Friday and Saturday, April 25 and 26.
