Javelina Invitational About the Meet Both the field events and the running events start at 1:30 p.m. Central, with the last running event scheduled for 4:30 p.m ... Tickets are $3 for adults and $1 for youth under the age of 18, and are available at the gate. Texas Competitors Sherman (Houston, Texas/Eisenhower HS) will compete in the 100 and 200 meter runs and the 100 meter hurdles ... She is coming off a season-best time in the 100-meter hurdles (13.72) which she posted on April 4 during the Texas Relays ... Malone posted a career-best 19 feet, 1.25 inches (5.82m) in the Texas Relays long jump, placing seventh in that event on April 4. Second-year performer Brown (Mesquite, Texas/Mesquite HS) had earned NCAA Midwest Region qualification in the shot put when she landed a toss of 54 feet, 3.25 inches (16.54m) for first place at the Rice Bayou Classic on March 29 ... Brown finished in the top 10 in two of her three events (discus and shot put) at the 2008 Texas Relays held last weekend in Austin ... She was fifth in the A section of the shot put competition (with a NCAA regional qualifying mark of 52-1.25 [15.88m]) and ninth in the discus with a toss of 147-02 (44.86m). Malone (Tortola, British Virgin Islands), a NCAA regional qualifier with a first-place finish in triple jump (40 feet, 10.25 inches, 12.45m) at that same Bayou Classic meet, also had a strong outing at the Texas Relays ... Malone had a career-best 19-feet, 1.25 inch long jump (5.82m) for seventh-place at the Texas Relays (April 4)... On the final day (April 5), she placed fourth in the A section of the triple jump in a career-best 42-feet, 6.75-inch leap, another NCAA regional qualifying mark.
