LONGHORNS HEAD TO COLLEGE STATION ... The University of Texas Women's Track and Field team heads to the 29th annual NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships this Friday-Saturday, March 11-12 held at Texas A&M's Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium. ESPN3.com and NCAA.com/aggieathletics.com will stream the championships via the following schedule:

TEXAS AT THE NCAA INDOOR MEET ...
Texas has won six NCAA Indoor Championships with its most recent coming in 2006. The Longhorns have finished in the top 10 over seven of the last eight years.
LONGHORNS GET MOST BIDS SINCE 2006 ...
texas' nine bids in six events mark its most since getting 10 during the 2006 season. During that 2006 season, the Longhorns used six individuals to pick up the National Championship with 51 points. This year, Texas will have eight athletes competing.
400 meter strong...
The Longhorns boast four runners in this weekend's 400m field of 16 athletes. It is the most entries in any one event for any school at this year's NCAA Championships, men's or women's. Freshman Briana Nelson leads the quartet with her time of 52.18, while junior Angele Cooper boasts a 52.67 and juniors Stacey-Ann Smith and Kendra Chambers each have a time of 53.23.
BACK FOR MORE ...
After taking home the 2009 4x400m NCAA Outdoor crown, the Texas mile relay is back and looking to extend its streak of top-eight finishes at the national indoor meet to six-straight years. Texas is no stranger to 4x400m relay titles as seven squads have won the event since 1988. The Longhorns seven titles in the event are more than any other NCAA Division I women's squad since the start of the national indoor meet in 1983.
Malone's versatility ...
Chantel Malone, who currently leads the NCAA in the long jump, is quite the versatile performer, as she is the only athlete in the country to rank in the top 15 nationally in the long jump, triple jump and 400m. Malone will only compete in the jumps at the NCAA Indoor Championships, but the Longhorns will use her as a leg on the 4x400m relay, that is ranked third heading into the meet.
LONGHORNS RISING IN THE RANKINGS ...
The Texas Women's Track and Field team has climbed to the No. 3 spot in the nation, according to the latest U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Team Computer rankings heading into the National Championship.
BEHM PEAKING AT THE RIGHT TIME...
After setting provisional marks in both her freshman and sophomore seasons, Behm recorded a personal best in the 5000m (15:58.34) and comes into the NCAA Championships ranked eighth. Her time of 15:58.34 also places her second on UT's all time list for the 5000m. She also has posted personal bests in the 3000m (9:23.19) and in mile (4:51.56).
BRISCOE FOLLOWING IN UT HIGH JUMP LEGACY ...
Freshman Shanay Briscoe added her name to the elite list of Texas high jumpers, including Destinee Hooker and Erin Aldrich, after she claimed the 2011 Big 12 Indoor Title. Briscoe followed up that performance by qualifying for the NCAA Championship with her personal-best clearance of 6-1.25 (1.85m) at the Arkansas last Chance Meet. Briscoe is just the fifth person in UT history to clear 6-1 indoors.
LAST TIME OUT: Big 12 Championships ...
The Longhorns posted a third place finish at the 2011 Big 12 Championships behind individual titles from freshman Marielle Hall (1,000m), freshman Shanay Briscoe (high jump) and junior Kendra Chambers (600y). Texas also posted an NCAA automatic mark in the 4x400m en route to finishing second.
CHAMBERS NOT MISSING A STEP ...
Despite having to sit out a year after transferring from UTEP to the Forty Acres, junior Kendra Chambers has not missed a step, qualifying for the NCAA Indoor Championships for the first time of her career. Chambers, who won the 600y Big 12 Indoor title in her first time running the event, owns a personal-best 400m time of 53.23, which places her tied for 14th in the nation.
