University of Texas varsity letterwinners have brought home more than 20 Olympic medals since 2004. Former triple jumper Helen Upperton just became one of the Longhorns' unlikeliest medalists.

Upperton piloted the silver-winning bobsled team for Canada at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Upperton competed in the triple jump at UT from 1998-2000, and came to the Longhorns from Dr. E P Scarlett High School in Katy, Texas.
