Siebert, Texas receive All-Academic recognition

AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Women’s Cross Country team and sophomore Megan Siebert have received All-Academic recognition by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The team recorded a GPA of 3.48 to earn All-Academic team status. To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship. The Longhorns finished 26th at the NCAA Championships after coming in second at both the NCAA South Central Regional and Big 12 Championships.

Siebert, a sophomore from Dallas, Texas, was chosen as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country honoree. To qualify the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have either earned USTFCCCA All-America status or finished in the NCAA region’s top 15 (or top 10 percent) in 2011. Siebert claimed 13th at the NCAA South Central Regional and was the second best runner for UT at the NCAA Championships.
