Kearney honored as TheFinalSprint.com's 'Success Story'
AUSTIN, Texas -- UT women's track and field and cross country head coach Bev Kearney was honored as the January 2008 "Success Story" in TheFinalSprint.com website podcast series. Kearney was chosen for the monthly award that recognizes individuals who have overcome adversity, changing not only their own lives, but also the lives of others through running, sports or fitness. In the interview, Kearney discusses the obstacles she has faced in her life, including losing her mother during high school and becoming homeless, and her ongoing battle to overcome injuries and trauma suffered in a December Kearney and the No. 11 Texas Women's Track and Field team return to action at the Houston Indoor Invitational from Friday-Saturday, Feb. 1-2.
