Women's Cross Country sweeps top two team spots at Johnny Morriss Invite

HOUSTON, Texas - The University of Texas Women's Cross Country team swept the top two team spots at the UH Johnny Morriss Invitational Friday night in Houston. The Longhorns' two squads - orange and white - each posted 28 points while going 1-9 in the individual standings. The Orange squad was led by sophomore Marielle Hall who led all runners at the two-mile meet with her first-place time of 11:18.57. Sophomore Megan Siebert came in third in a time of 11:25.90 and was followed by Laleh Mojtabaeezamani who placed fifth in 11:38.99. Junior Ginny Simon and sophomore Jourdan Ellis rounded out scoring for the Orange group finishing eighth (11:52.42) and 11th (12:03.79). Senior Mia Behm led the White squad with her second-place finish in 11:18.57. Sophomore Brittany Marches clocked an 11:30.69 for fourth while sophomore Jessica Harper crossed the line in 11:39.55. Also scoring for the White team in the top 10 was senior Anne Jones in seventh (11:45.00) and senior Julie Amthor (11:58.35).
