Texas' 4x100m relay places fifth on final day of NCAA Championships

DES MOINES - The University of Texas Women's Track and field team recorded a fifth-place finish in the 4x100m relay to wrap up competition for the Longhorns at the 2011 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Texas finishes tied for eighth overall with 25 points to mark the 24th time in program history the Horns have finished in the top 10 at the outdoor national meet.
The 400m relay of senior Chantel Malone, freshmen Allison Peter and Christy Udoh and sophomore Chalonda Goodman clocked a 44.06 to earn First Team All-America honors. Texas placed in the event for the first time since 2006.
