Mojtabaeezamani leads Longhorns on day one of Big 12 Track and Field Championships

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Sophomore Laleh Mojtabaeezamani led the Texas Women's Track and Field team on the first day of the Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championships with her eighth-place finish in the 10,000m at Walton Track Stadium Friday morning. Mojtabaeezamani clocked a personal-best 35:49.77 for the first All-Big 12 honor of her career and secured one point for the Longhorns on the first day of the annual league meet. Senior Allison Mendez finished just behind her teammate in 35:56.54 for ninth place. Also participating on Friday was senior Jordyn Brown who posted a mark of 173-9 (52.96m) for ninth place. Brown will also compete in the discus on Saturday and the shot put on Sunday. Day two action for the Longhorns begins at 1 p.m. Field event finals are the long jump, discus and high jump while all running events will be preliminaries. TEXAS RESULTS Hammer Throw
