Two throwers and relay cap off Florida Relays for Women's Track & Field

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - On the final day of the Florida Relays in Gainesville, Fla., the University of Texas Women's Track & Field team had two athletes compete in throwing events and one relay group run the 4x400m relay to end the weekend. Senior Amanda Van Dyke tallied her top throw of the season in the shot put invite division. Her mark of 51-11.75 (15.84m) was good for fourth overall. It was the second straight meet she topped 50 feet. In the hammer throw, Akua Sencherey ended up 20th overall with a toss of 148-7 (45.30m) on her second attempt. The 4x400m relay was the final event of the day for the women. Texas placed fourth in the race with a time of 3:31.74. Danielle Dowie led off the relay and was followed by Kendra Chambers and Christy Udoh before Briana Nelson closed it out. Next Saturday the Longhorns will host the Texas Invitational at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.
