Lumas qualifies for 400 meter hurdles final on day two of Texas Relays
April 2, 2009 AUSTIN, Texas -- University of Texas women's track freshman Destiny Lumas clocked a personal-best and NCAA regional time of 1:00.25 to qualify for Saturday's final heat on day two of the 82nd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays presented by State Farm. Lumas finished eighth after taking over a full second off her previous best of 1:01.34. The newcomer's time was her first NCAA qualifier of the season. Also competing in the 400-meter hurdles prelims was freshman Angele Cooper, who clocked a 1:03.32 for 28th. The Relays return to action Friday, April 3 with a full slate of running events starting at 9:30 a.m. Central at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
