Cooper clocks 59.39 in 400m hurdle prelims on day two of Texas Relays
April 1, 2010 AUSTIN, Texas -- Sophomore Angele Cooper ran a season-best 59.39 in the 400m hurdles to lead the Longhorns on the second day of the 83rd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays out at Mike A. Myers Stadium, Thursday afternoon. Cooper finished first with the fourth-fastest time of her career, despite running into a strong headwind that was gusting up to 20 mph. The sophomore qualified for Saturday's 12:15 p.m. Central final with the time, which also ranks as the 10th fastest mark in the nation this season. In the hammer throw, senior Jordyn Brown recorded a personal-best throw of 184-05 (56.21m) to finish 11th. Brown posted the throw on her third attempt and the mark currently ranks as the 24th best in the country. Texas Relays action continues on Friday, April 2 with events starting at 9:30 a.m. Central.
