Nov. 29, 2011
AUSTIN, Texas - University of Texas head women's tennis coach Patty Fendick-McCain announced Tuesday the signing of Breaunna Addison to a National Letter of Intent. Addison (Boca Raton, Fla.) will join the Longhorns' women's tennis program in the fall of 2012. "Breaunna is a tremendous athlete who can really cover the court," Fendick-McCain said. "She is tough and talented, and she has a very good all-court game. She will be an immediate contributor at The University of Texas." Addison currently ranks 14th among high school seniors by TennisRecruiting.net, though she has been ranked as high as No. 6 in the United States. Addison won the girls' 16 singles title at the prestigious Dunlop Orange Bowl International International Tennis Championships and reached the semifinals at the Eddie Herr International Junior Tennis Championships in 2009. Addison, who has ranked as high as No. 303 in the ITF junior tennis rankings, claimed the girls' singles title last week at the Goombay Splash Bowl, an ITF junior tennis event in The Bahamas. Earlier this month, she reached the singles semifinals at the Evert American ITF Junior Circuit event in Boca Raton, Fla.
