Women's Tennis eliminated from ITA Southwest Regional Championships

Texas' run in the ITA Southwest Regional Championships comes to an end as Vanja Corovic falls in the singles quarterfinals and Petra Dizdar and Stephanie Davison suffer defeat in the doubles quarterfinals.

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Texas saw its productive run through the ITA Southwest Regional Championships come to an end Sunday at TCU's Friedman Tennis Center.

After commencing a strong run through the singles draw, UT freshman Vanja Corovic (Belgrade, Serbia) fell in the quarterfinals to Baylor's top-seeded Zuzana Cerna, 6-3, 6-4.

Texas' lone remaining doubles pair also fell in the quarterfinals.Freshman Stephanie Davison (Port Orchard, Wash.) and senior Petra Dizdar (Split, Croatia) suffered an 8-2 defeat to Baylor's Cerna and Lenka Broosova.

Texas returns to action on Friday, Nov. 3 at the Desert Classic in Palm Springs, Calif.
